LungMark - Biological and radiological biomarkers for the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases

Lungmark is a Université Côte d'Azur Data Science Project, co-funded by the MSI

Project Leader: Hervé Delingette

Project Partners: Hervé Delingette (Inria Sophia Antipolis Méditerranée, Epione Team), Paul Hofman (LPCE, CHUN*, IRCAN), Charles Hugo Marquette (Pneumology Department, CHUN*), Bernard Padovani (Radiology Department, CHUN*)

*Nice University Hospital Center (CHUN)

The LungMark project aims to improve the detection and treatment of 3 pulmonary pathologies: lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pulmonary fibrosis. More precisely, the project aims to use supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to extract 3 types of biomarkers, and to combine biological information and medical imaging to:

measure the evolution of chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD and pulmonary fibrosis.

measure the severity of pulmonary lesions at an early stage in order to decide quickly on the patient care.

detect lung cancer at an early stage in patients with emphysema and fibrosis.

Project Start and End Dates: October 2017 - March 2021
