The Center for Modeling, Simulation and Interactions (MSI) was created as part of the UCAJEDI project, which won the French government’s Initiatives of Excellence (IDEX) award in 2016. Its aim: to foster and structure transdisciplinary exchanges in academic research as well as public-private research partnerships in the South region, in all fields that require strong expertise in modeling, simulation and massive data processing.

Located in Sophia Antipolis, Europe's leading technology park and a fertile environment for exchanges between Faculty and industrialists, the MSI is part of the national MSO (Modeling, Simulation and Optimization) network, which brings together structures aimed at developing Maths-business collaborations.

To date, the MSI has :

In addition, since one of MSI’s goals is to assist Université Côte d’Azur faculty with their numerical simulations, it decided in 2019 to renovate the CICADA meso-computing center. Université Côte d'Azur's new HPC cluster, Azzurra, will be launched in early 2020. Further information will soon be available on the dedicated page of  MSI’s website.
