It is generally admitted that single 'omics analysis does not provide enough information to give a deep understanding of a biological system, but we can obtain a more holistic view of a system by combining multiple 'omics analyses. In this context, this talk will present the mixOmics R package that proposes multivariate statistical methods to explore and integrate 'omics data sets.

The methods presented are multivariate linear methods based on the same principle as Principal Component Analysis (PCA). So, first, the talk will set the basics of multivariate linear methods through PCA. After that, the extension to discriminant (PLS-DA) and integrative (PLS, multi-block PLS) methods will be straightforward, and a specific attention will be paid to variable selection and visualization.
For the workshop, an R script enabling to reproduce some exploratory and integrative analyses on datasets included in the package will be provided to the attendees. More advanced users can bring their own data.
